What Is CBD Isolate?

CBD isolate is just that: chemically pure CBD that doesn’t have any of the other cannabinoids associated with hemp in it such as THC. The powdered version is blended with oils to make the liquid form commonly used in vape pens. Most use this form when baking and making edibles.

Can You Eat CBD Isolate?

CBD isolate makes it easier to bake those yummy edibles everyone loves. Manufactures grind it into power, so it’s easier to consume. Many make creams and homemade vape liquids with it. After doing much research, many people will put the powder or crystals under the tongue to absorb it into the body easier. The FDA says they are aware of the substance being used in edibles and send many warnings on medical patients using it with other medications. Using this while on certain medications can cause serious health risks. Please consult your doctor when wanting to use CBD Isolate.

What Is The Difference Between CBD And CBD Isolate?

To put it plainly, the difference between CBD and CBD isolate is that there isn’t any. CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD and contains no cannabinoids besides CBD. It has no added ingredients and is taken straight from the plant. CBD isolates are used for edibles and other foods you want to add them to. However, “CBD” is a blanket term used for most products that simply contain CBD and isn’t entirely accurate depending on what form of CBD you’re talking about. A CBD isolate product isn’t the same as a full spectrum CBD product or a broad spectrum CBD product. Most CBD products have 0.03% or less THC due to federal law and will not get you the full effect of the high like weed can.

Why Is CBD Isolate Better?

CBD isolate is better if you want the CBD without all of the other cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, etc that come in full-spectrum CBD products. If you’re in a state where CBD products are allowed to have no THC in them at all for them to be legal or if you’re worried about burning a drug test, CBD isolate products are what you want. It makes it easier for first-time users to try CBD without the THC or other cannabis compounds that can alter the effects.

To conclude, the FDA has warned many that taking CBD with other medications or alcohol can cause serious side effects, including liver damage. Please consult your doctor before trying a CBD product.

What Are The Effects of CBD Isolate?

CBD affects the body by somehow indirectly affecting your endocannabinoid receptors. These receptors can affect things such as appetite, mood, perception of pain, inflammation, and even your ability to remember things.

The affects of CBD can be:

  • analgesic (pain relieving)
  • anticonvulsant (anti-seizure)
  • anti-anxiety
  • neuroprotective (protects or regenerates the nervous system)
  • antiemetic (prevents vomiting)
  • anti-inflammatory (reduces inflammation)
  • anti-tumoriogenic (anti-cancer)
  • boost your immune system

Can You Test Positive For CBD Isolate?

No, you can’t test positive for CBD isolate unless the drug test is testing you specifically for CBD. Most urine drug tests are tests for THC, which is why CBD isolate is preferred for people who want to use CBD, but don’t want to risk failing a drug test. Full-spectrum CBD products contain enough THC to potentially cause you to fail a drug test, so you should be careful that the products you purchase are actually CBD isolate if you’re concerned about being tested. Broad-spectrum CBD products have had all of the THC removed, but still contain other cannabinoids, terpenes, etc. To be sure, though, use CBD isolate.

Is CBD Isolate Good For Pain?

Because CBD has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties in general, we would have to say that it’s probably worth trying if you’re looking for a type of CBD that’s easy to take and not likely to get you in any trouble legally or with your job. You may not get as good of an effect from it as you would using a full spectrum or broad-spectrum CBD product, however, because those products benefit from the entourage effect. When you have a full spectrum CBD product, it contains all of the cannabis plant’s cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, etc and they sort of give each other a boost in efficacy. When you’re only using CBD isolate, it doesn’t get that boost.
